Launched in March 2020 together with KAWS, the app features a small version of COMPANION (EXPANDED) and AT THIS TIME (EXPANDED) from his project EXPANDED HOLIDAY, and a series AR drawings. Following the launch, Acute Art launched WUNDERKAMMER by Olafur Eliasson, The London Mastaba AR (Hyde Park) by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Prerequisites 7 by Koo Jeong A, and The Eternal Wave AR: Li Nova – an extension of The Eternal Wave project by Cao Fei.

Prerequisites 7 (2019) includes five animated drawings that can be placed on the wall, from a curious crouching frog to a flying woman, whose dress billows in the wind, in addition to the floating, translucent ice cube, density.

In 2019, density was widely exhibited with institutions across the globe including: the Fondation Beyeler during Art Basel 2019, Frieze Sculpture 2019 in Regent’s Park, the Julia Stoschek Collection in Berlin and SKATE at Somerset House among others.

Visitors to Hyde Park can virtually summon up one of the best loved public artworks of recent years, Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s The London Mastaba. The launch of The London Mastaba AR (Hyde Park) (2020) brings this iconic sculpture back to The Serpentine Lake.

Olafur Eliasson’s WUNDERKAMMER is an intriguing collection of natural elements, small artworks and experiments from the artist’s studio rendered in AR. These AR collectibles meld the well-known with startling movement and unexpected actions – from a glowing sun and a shimmering rainbow to a cloud that emits rain. You will additionally find a friendly-looking puffin; a floating compass that always returns to true north; a flying insect; a lucky stone; the Northern Lights; flowers and a Little Sun Eliasson’s solar-powered lantern, that can be charged by the AR sun. As the project evolves, Eliasson will add more ephemeral phenomena and artistic experiments to the collection.

These unique AR artworks, available through the app, are designed to give anyone anywhere the opportunity to enjoy, photograph and share art in a way that’s never been done before.

For a few lucky collectors, there’s a unique opportunity to own a first-of-its-kind artwork by KAWS that you can buy on this site. COMPANION (EXPANDED) by KAWS is available as an edition of 25 (1.8-meter) AR sculptures. Owners of these AR artworks can keep the artworks private or make them publicly available for anyone who has downloaded the app. (If they’ve already sold out, you can also check the secondary market on the website.) density by Koo Jeong A will also be offered as a special edition, purchasable through this site over the next coming weeks.
